Stopham Pinot Blanc, 2021, 11%

English wine just gets better and better, and this is a cracking example from West Sussex, the jewel in the crown of English wine 'terroir'. Pinot Blanc can occasionally be an unexciting grape, but this is it to the max: dry with pear and primrose on the nose and pink grapefruit, melon and sweet fennel and white pepper on the palate.

Pairing: Caesar salad, chicken, smoked fish, scallops.
