Revana, Stag's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, 2001, 14.4%

An extremely rare and special bottle of wine that we were lucky to get our hands on via auction when the famed restaurant Le Gavroche closed its doors and sold off its wine cellar. This was the first ever release for Revana in Napa Valley, and was only sold to members. The wine has aged graciously, showing deep, rich aromas with notes of truffle, coffee, leather, spice and dried fruits. In the mouth it still shows remarkably fresh acidity, keeping it lively, and fine grained tannins.
