Montesanco Mon Bobal 2019, Spain, 14.5%

Description
From Wine Club favourite Montensanco's premium "Mon" range, this is a powerful, complex, beast of a red that delivers plenty of bang for its premium price point. 100 % Bobal from non-irrigated 100-year-old vineyards. The wine is partially fermented in French oak barrels and then racked afterwards to new French oak barrels where the malolactic fermentation takes place. The wines are aged afterwards in the same barrels for 12 months with frequent  bâtonnage. Around 5,000 bottles are produced.

Aromas & Flavours
Pronounced aromas of berries, figs and raisins backed by a well-measured oaky backbone. Bobal gives a characteristic slightly medicinal/mineral flavour that lends freshness. Lots of weight in the palate with well-integrated tannins and mouth-watering acidity. 

Food pairing
Great with steak and other big beef dishes.
